The Ultimate Collection on Steam!
In case you people missed it...

This is huge, in ways the average user probably won't even suspect. I downloaded C&C1, and it has a language selection for English, French, German and Japanese. This bundle contains absolutely all translations of the games. The Ultimate Collection on the EA App doesn't even have a French version, and this has freaking Japanese. They didn't even include that in the Remaster :steamhappy:

[edit]

For the record, it seems the versions on the EA App were updated to also include all fixes that are in this Steam collection.

Just bought this and not sure in what order should I play them and where is the first C&C. It's part of one of the collections just not sure which.

Command & Conquer: Generals

I get that but C&C 1 base game and expansion are a single install (Command & Conquer™ The Covert Operations)
So it had me confused

Best order to play them is still just the chronological order of release.

Command & Conquer + The Covert Operations
Command & Conquer: Red Alert + Counterstrike + The Aftermath
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun + Firestorm
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge
Command & Conquer: Renegade
Command & Conquer: Generals + Zero Hour
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars + Kane's Wrath
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 + Uprising

Yea maybe they should've done what the Remaster did, and added the "Tiberian Dawn" title to it...

For Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, just play the remastered collection.

i got a question, and what I'm asking is whether or not I can play the titles without being subscribed to EA Play? cause I don't want to buy the collection and then be tied to paying a monthly fee to be able to play each one of them xd

Umm. Of course you can. Just buy the bundle. The fact it's available through EA Play doesn't mean EA Play is in any way required.

The "EA Play subscription requires acceptance of EA Play Terms" thing on the store sidebar only applies to people who play it through EA Play. If it was obligatory, it wouldn't mention the "EA Play subscription requires" part; it'd just say "Requires agreement to" just like the "Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA" block above it.

I mean, it says "EA Play subscription requires acceptance of EA Play Terms". It doesn't ever say "Requires EA Play subscription".

bunch of old C&C games are freeware anyway. Why pay?

Well, mostly for the extended language support, and RA2 and Generals I guess. It's not like they're selling C&C1/RA1/TS in the store; they're just part of the bundle, just like on the EA App.

But yea, unless you're actually interested in these extra languages, there's indeed not much point in downloading C&C1, RA1 and TS from Steam.

Do those titles now work on modern os (Win11)? I bought a bundle a couple of years ago and RA3 wasn't running correctly on Win10 so I refunded.

Well, if someday there are Red Alert 2 Remastered, at least make game will not lag badly like Red Alert Remastered.
