LAN start button Not enabled

Just bought the remastered C&C, hoping to set up and play with friends on LAN but when I set up the options to host the game the "Start" button is never enabled. Have just tried with a bot to play against. Is another computer on the network required to run the LAN start button? In the past if I remember correctly I could play LAN option against bots. Thanks for any info on this. Not really interested in the online play but prefer LAN party with friends locally.

Actually you can play offline skirmish with bots by pressing the online match option. There are 4 types of configuration there:

*Offline Skirmish
*Ranked Games (Quick Match)
*Host Server
*Server Browser

For playing locally with friends I suggest you to host online PRIVATE match and just invite them manually. It would work the same as LAN party. Especially if you are on one network.

Thanks for the info. I discovered the LAN start button works when another pc with the game loaded on the lan. Just was waiting for a second computer to connect. The bots don't activate the start LAN game. But as you mentioned the skirmish option does allow local game against a bot. I guess my mis-expectation of the game function was part of the problem.
