Why in the world did they Remaster this game instead of...

Red Alert 2 or Generals Zero Hour... those 2 games have a massive following and remasters would have sold 10 times more games than this one.... What are people thinking?? Now, since this one did not sell as much as they wanted we will not see a remaster of a superior game lol. Someone needs to be fired.

It exceeded expectations apparently, but the ball is in EA's court now whether they want a remaster of TS and RA2. Have to remember that Steam wasn't the only platform this was released on. It's estimated that it sold an estimated 1-2m copies based on metrics using Steam Spy, for every 1 review there was estimated 20~50 copies sold estimation, using SteamDB's estimate of owners, which at one point clocked it around 507 thousand users. I highly doubt remasters of RA2 and Generals/ZH would break 10-12 million copies.

It's well known that Petroglyph Games is completely open to remastering TS & RA2. But there are other things holding those games back, such as what's the deals the actors made on possible residuals.

because this is the beginning of the series and despite what you may think is more iconic, especially more iconic then generals (not to mention given today's climate RA2 and generals wouldn't go over well today)

The war in Ukraine is undoubtedly holding back news of any more RA remasters. If it prevented Nintendo pushing out Advance Wars remastered on schedule, you can be damn sure the EA PR team were going mental at the thought of a remastered RA game.

I mean, neither Tib Sun or RA2 remaster has even been announced. There's zero reason to think the war in Ukraine has anything to do with there not being a new remaster on the works.

EA producer Jim Vessella is quoted as saying C&C Remastered exceeded all expectations from both a critical and commercial standpoint so... Maybe stop talking nonsense?

He's clearly not a fan of C&C if he hates these games this bad. He's been whining about it few months before the release of this remastered collection.

Yeah lol Remastered Generals is not happening. People should just accept that. Hell, I remember when Generals launched!! Back when the War in Iraq was in full swing. Generals got a newspaper article! I don't think it caused much hysteria back then though because honestly I don't think many people were paying as much attention (particularly parents) to video games as much as they do now. So it flew under the radar. Definitely won't happen now though.

On the other hand, Red Alert 2 and to a lesser extent, Red Alert 3 I could see being remastered. I don't see what the War in Ukraine has to do with those. Red Alert 2 and 3 are such massive parodies of the Cold War that Red Alert 2 borders on being "too funny to take seriously" and Red Alert 3 just dives head first into the silly stuff and doesn't bother looking back.

People need to get off the "couldn't be done today" hype train. Backlash and hit pieces for views are as old as entertainment itself, but rarely make a significant difference.

People still say games like Postal couldn't be made today... While the next Postal game comes out.

The reason new Remasters aren't coming out is purely financial and a lack of interest of EA's part.
