The new interface has far more icons on it though, so it no longer matters if some are wasted by crap. In the original game, you had 8 slots, 4 of which were for buildings. EVERYTHING ELSE used the other 4. There was also no mouse wheel to scroll the box and no queuing the productions. In other words... get over it.
Not true, against AI though they would mainyl be there to divert some fire away from your real buildings, against other players, though in addition to the above could also trick them into thinking you might have capability your don't actually have (whether that is the ability to outright build something, or just being able to build stuff faster), and thus making them play more defensive than needed, maybe giving your just enough time to actually get back in the game/ahead in the game
All of this is normal functionality, ofc as soon as mission get scripted around a certain unit things changes drastically, but is not fair to use to compare units usefullness
I think the thief is much more useful than the spy, if managed carefully.
No, That's still in. Forgot about that. Just when you are allies and have the satellite going, this will become pointless.
