I protected the chronosphere with 4 AA guns and 2 pillboxes from their paradrops. Teleport a cruiser at the southeastern waters and you can blow up their construction yard and some power plants at the southeastern base, middle base and eastern base. The cruiser can also destroy the western base powers from the western waters. This should disable the tesla coils and the Soviet can't rebuild their power.
With the power down, and cruisers soften up the defenses. Just rush with medium tanks and destroy everything. Infiltrate the research center after your cruiser clears the attack dogs in the cages so you can reuse one spy on all 3 research centers. Send some thieves into the southwestern ore ref/silo for some money.
As for the MAD tanks, you can win without letting a single one detonate. Just chronoshift your 2 chrono tanks at the hill (away from the mammoths off course) and intercept the MAD tank before it drives to its deploy point. You might wanna fire and move because the AI MAD tank will retaliate by driving towards your unit and deploy once it's 1 square near you so keep moving to avoid detonation. Send them back after destroying the MAD tank (because Soviet patrols regularly go there) and frequently check for more MAD Tanks approaching the hill.
The only real challenge was the soviet paradroppers and bombers. When I had control over the 2 soviet airfeilds I would say the rest was a cake walk. Now I need to figure out how to access the ant missions.
Teleporting straight to the control center is kind of cheating; you're not really supposed to know where those are.
I actually once managed to capture the war factory when it was in the process of dispensing a MAD Tank. If you do that, you actually get the vehicle, too, just like with the repair bay, because the two are linked. I never detonated it, though.
Here's the official hints from back in 1997

Yes, I saw this video from Taxowelbear on YT so I got the picture about anying in that mission. I toke over everything, but I could not build MAD tanks from what I recal.
I could replay the mission later on hard instad of medium difficulty.
Maybe this mission should have had an extra soviet construction yard that would have made more a challange perhpaes. Also this mission should have waken the chrono tanks so that it could not teleport to a unexplored area.
The mission is fine, except I used to fail a lot because the MAD tanks keep destroying their own research centers before I could infiltrate all 3. At least this mission doesn't have Chrono vortex since I never encountered any.
Reallyt? I just teleport the chrono tanks I have from the start to the bottom right of the flare revealing the detonation spot, and park them a bit further down, and just intercept and kill every single one of them before they get to the location. The infantry patrols are a bit annoying, but you can teleport on top of them to get rid of them, and you can occasionally teleport back for repairs.
