Red Alert : same AI as in the original game in skirmish ?
Hello,

In the original game, the AI was limited.

Ex:
- it never built naval units
- it never built more advanced structures (ex. the tech center, ...)

Was this adressed in this remastered version or the same limitations are still there ?

I don't think anything AI-related was upgraded, besides some minor improvements on the resource scan logic for harvesters.

I remember seeing the original ai building a tech center. But it's rare and it still is in the remaster.

It was on PS1 Red Alert (the original, not the Retaliation), but I thought indeed that, once, in a skirmish, the AI built Tanya (so requiring a tech center). But I'm not sure at all.

Yeah, they build a tech center and immediately sell it just to get the tech, saw that happens a few times.

I saw skirmish ai built Chrono tanks and mobile gap generators too.

PS1 had vastly overhauled AI, I think, but none of that code was recovered, so all those upgrades are sadly lost forever.

Ah, I did not know that the AI was revamped for the PS1 version.

I also casually play on the PC version (through CnCNet) and I've the impression that in CnCNet they managed to change the AI behaviour in Skirmish but not to the point where they would build higher tech building, naval units, ... This would be awesome and this is why I asked the question initially. For me, it'd be a serious argument to buy this version.

So far there are 4 mods for Red Alert Remastered
Original
AI will not build navy/shocktrooper/attackdog/service depot/MCV(But if AI picked from create will use.)/Nuclear silos (If AI picked create, AI will use it.)
Aftermath will build airforce, original won't, unless player use air force attack AI's base.
Aftermath has building speed limit.

Veterancy Mod
AI will build Navy, but still can't use attackdog/service depot/MCV/nuclear silos, I forget AI will train shock trooper or not.
Aftermath has upgrade can use.
Aftermath building speed limit can turn off.

AI-Boost Mod
AI will build navy, train/build MCV/attack dog/shocktrooper/nuclear silos, capture different side's any building can get all tech from different side.
AI has income cheating, but can set it off.
Aftermath building speed limit can turn off.

Mujalli Mod
AI will build navy, also very aggressive, will attack everything in unit's range.
Removed aftermath building speed limit.
So far not changed too many things, other mods changed too much, become more like Red Alert 2.

RA New Features Mod
AI will not build/train Navy/attack dog/MCV.
Infantry's stat changed a lot.
Building speed limit increased, but not unlimited.
Aftermath has upgrade can use.

I'm not sure my memory correct or not, but I know most players rather play PVP than PVE, so what I said make no scene I guess.

Thanks for this full explanation.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what do PVP and PVE mean ?
Nyerguds Oct 26, 2022 @ 2:57pm
Player versus Player (multiplayer), and Player versus Environment (basically, against "naturally occurring threats in the game", meaning, the AI.)

Player vs Player and Player vs Environment - which would be Skirmish vs AI.
