Can't Connect to server
Hey,
When i launch the game on steam , i always get the message '' can't connect to server, check your internet setteing or see www.ea/ cant connect to server''
al the online buttons are greyed out.
is this normal? are the servers dead for this game?

The message about" can't connect to server, check your internet" or other issues when playing (or trying to play) online happens half the time I tried to play online so it's a matter of luck. The multiplayer for the remastered collection seems unreliable recently, but still fun if you manage to get some flawless online games.

If you have mods enabled then you can't play online and the buttons will be greyed out.

i dont have any mods anabled, and the buttons are greyed out since the first time i played the game. so i don't really know what the issue could be.

I'm fairly sure the remaster doesn't try to connect to any EA server on startup... or do you mean when launching a multiplayer game?

Online play buttons being greyed out is indeed a typical side effect of having mods enabled.

Yes, on the home screen i always got the text massege on the bottum of the screen ''can't connect to server, check your internet setteing or see www.ea/ cant connect to server''
and when i go to multiplayer screen the buttons are greyed out.

We got the same message when we try to set up a LAN game. Any Solution or Suggestion ?

Um. LAN doesn't even use any servers. It was specifically added so there would be an alternative in case the official servers would ever be shut down.

we sit in the same room, use the same router and we still have the connection problems quite often...

Yea, but that won't give "the same message" as you claimed, because the message this was about was about connecting to EA servers.

The multiplayer is server-based, meaning that in LAN mode, the one hosting the game is the server in that context. Still unrelated to connecting to EA servers.

It's not an error though, it's just saying it's trying to connect. If it doesn't succeed in that, well, no idea, could be something misconfigured on the LAN.

hmm sounds possible, thank you again, we found out when i host and wait some seconds after everything is set it works...
