Difficulty of Nod campaign
So, I've played this game around the time it came out but I used cheats to get past most of the levels and I think I only finished the GDI missions (I was like 6 years old).

I finally finished the GDI campaign legit for the first time, and it was pretty easy overall, now I am getting into the Nod campaign... and I am getting raped hard.

Nod 7A and 8A both seem kind of brutal and have very little room for mistakes. Am I missing something, or are the Nod missions actually hard compared with GDI (also, I kind of remember Red Alert missions being easier overall until kind of close to the end).

Also, any tips? :P

Nod missions are harder because they have more no base missions. It takes some trial-an-error until you figured out what to do. Be sure to quicksave a lot if you keep losing a lot.

Nod missions are a bit harder than the GDI missions. Mission design is more intricate.

It really depends. Many GDI missions have situations where you start with low funds, and a heavily damaged, limited base. Getting back up and running can be tricky. If you don't play effectively.

The only majorly difficult Nod mission is Mission 8; as in most of the others, you can pretty much spam Recon bikes and destroy everything with a flurry of missiles. When it comes to Mission 8 though, that one is just unrelentingly difficult. Especially on Hard mode; it's almost impossible then due to the insane damage the grenadiers can do.

Oh, for real? Because I am stuck on mission 8A and was kind of ready to give up and switch to Red Alert because of how brutal that ♥♥♥♥ is. You're saying it gets easier after this?

You can always try a different route. In Nod campaign some routes are a lot harder than others. Since there's a mission selector, you can just repick a route.

If I remember correctly 8th missions are hard because enemy harasses you early on. You should build one or two turrets and hide your units behind them. When enemy attacks, let him focus on turrets and pull out your units then. Turrets are repairable and cheap. Slowly build a tank army, when you get to 5-6, enemy won't be able to do significant damage any longer. Capture the rest of tiberium and build as many tanks as you can and destroy him.

If you playing a route with boat, don't bother with it. Take northern way to enemy base.

Mission 8 is the one where you only got GDI tech. So you don't have turrets. It's hard because you have to deal with Airstrikes but don't get SAM Sites that serve as distraction for them.

GDI anti infantry turrets work just as well. Enemy usually sends 1 tank or a couple of rangers. It will take some time for it to destroy the turret if you're repairing it. Once turret starts attacking the tank, it will ignore everything else (except maybe it'll try squashing infantry that's too close). So my strategy was, slowly build more tanks, keep them healthy by covering behind turrets. When you get 5-6 tanks, you can stop hiding and expand.

Turn the game speed down to something low during missions where you don't have bases. You will find yourself losing your units because the AI is out microing you due to the high game speed. Older C&C games don't have any QOL shortcuts to help humans micro manage so it's best to cut the game speed down so you can make sure not to take unnecessary losses.

There's only one building called "turret" in the game. You're referring to the Guard Tower.

New Construction Options mission is hard because you're mostly using GDI tech and GDI vs GDI is hard when you're at money disadvantage, no orcas, and periodic enemy airstrikes keep bombing you.

If you can endure the airstrike, gdi only attacks in small waves of infantry, hummvees and tank from time to time, which is easy to manage as long as you have a stable economy.
