The AI I remember from N64 is a lot harder
Hello

The AI in Campaign isn't sending anything nor producing any more units, just sitting in base, in the GDI 10 A mission I just played for the first time ever on PC (remastered).

My C&C memories are exclusively from Nintendo 64 port, the AI felt quite hard there than some of the missions here. I'm not sure if this is designed on purpose for the remaster, but I was using Normal Difficulty this time around.

Once I finish Normal, I'll go and redo the Campaign with Hard. But even on normal most of it felt a bit too easy with some exceptions.

Thanks for opinions.

Usually people talk about how hard it is. I tried to play the n64 port back in the day but the controlled sucked compared to the PC. I can confirm that the difficulty is the same as it was back on the day for the PC side. You can try to play on hard but just makes your units weaker and theirs stronger.

The AI still builds attack groups and send them to attack me so not sure what's up with your game. Playing on Hard only changes the unit stats, so it won't make them more aggressive to attack or change their behavior.
I suggest you play it on Hard then. Since I know normal is easy on this game and hard is normal. Compared to other strategy games.

The scripts are identical in the two games. I checked.

There are some differences in some maps, but they only serve to make missions simpler to compensate for the clunky controls. For example, on the Nod Stealth Tank mission, because the N64 lacks hotkeys to quickly switch to other units, you don't have split teams at opposite sides of the map, there are no gunboats, and there are crossings over the river.

Well, allright, it's been some time since, but I played N64 C&C so much I know it in an out really well, yes there were times when the AI just sat and did nothing too, I had lots of fun planning and slowly crawling back even after almost losing, etc. But in this mission exactly, I do remember them doing more than just ... 3-4 small attacks and that's it.
