No, I know for certain that there's one particular Allied campaign mission where the AI destroys a tree near your base when they move towards it. But that's the only one I know of.
I know it was possible in Red Alert, at least the original one where I used to make a cheating custom skirmish map in my old windows98 where the map gives advantage if you destroy trees and the skirmish AI never does that.
The mission which turns out to be 2 missions back to back, yes. But I played the first secret mission last Monday, I didn't notice any ant destroying a tree, at least as far as I'd explored.
I also haven't noticed any trees being destroyed by the MAD-tank though. Even though I quickly stopped building them as soon as I realized they are one of the least useful ones anyway.
What I noticed lately is that some trees can't be fully destroyed. In particular, if you use flame weapons, the trees will turn into charred remains which cannot be then destroyed. It definitely happens in TD, not 100% sure about RA.
Same. It makes it so much easier to slip your tanks through to the northeast corner and finally to the nuke silo itself :)
Apparently Tanya is an exception to this rule because I was able to destroy trees with her... but we're talking about Tanya bullets here... :D
Thanks for the clarification!
