C&C Generals + Zero Hour Remastered.

Of all the C&C games Generals Zero Hour is by far the one i would like to see remastered. Would love to know if they have any plans of doing this.

If not then i would happily buy the original through Steam if it supported multiplayer. Dam i miss that game ^^.

It would be great, but Generals' licence is compromised : Generals 2 was canceled due to copyrights with Warhammer inc. Second, the real geopolitic would make the fire on forums. There are enough hate for now. I don't think a remastered version is a wise choice at this time. I'm a great fan, with a personal mod, but this remastered version all are expecting is not a good idea for now.

Ummm, what? No it wasn't. Generals 2 wasn't even officially called "Generals 2", and it was cancelled due to internal corporate shenanigans. I've never heard anything about such a license/copyright issue. C&C Generals was 100% an EALA product, in name and license.

The fact China is in it is a much bigger problem; China generally bans any games that have a slightly unflattering depiction of them, and the very premise of Generals is to parody all three sides (the "Extremely Good Guys!!!!!1111oneone1" USA, the "Human rights are a suggestion; flame on my dudes" China, and the "For the cause! What actually is the cause?" GLA terrorists).

The original was already banned in China, and China is a growing market for video games, so not getting any sales there is starting to be a real issue to companies.


As for remasters... they started at the beginning, so there's no reason to assume they'd suddenly skip three games ahead after that.

I couldn't careless about the politics i just loved the game. As if Red Alert is not in the same boat with its West Vs East block factions. If its that much of an issue Change the names and flags for all that it matters. the game play is what i care about not who is gets but hurt over a video game portrayal of a fictional alternative history in a game.

Companies have lots of trouble getting into the China market with all the government control its true. Many get around this my changing their games for that market. I'm sure you think of several games or movies that have had to be changed just for them.

I still hope they will remaster it at some point ^^.

all i want is RA2 YR remastered so in the hopes of seeing Mental Omega Remastered tiberium son is my second favorite CnC game so it would be nice if we got that to.

The only way to add China as a faction properly is if they made China fighting aliens and colonizing space also not adding current Chinese faction(PLA) in the game. The banned Generals because of using historical sites too. Something about depicting Chinese soldiers as too weak ruining their image. Reality is Generals was more a depiction of ISIS taking over entire middle east and invading both East & West. EA predicted a possible future.
