Confusing survey. Isn't C&C Remastered Collection a mix of two? It's same engine (more or less), but remade assets. I expect the same from TS & RA2 remaster.

Maybe they just want to know if fans want a remaster or remake next.
Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, unlike Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, are also the same game in many parts. I think that was the reason we got the first two games in one pack.

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, vote Remake, we need modern stuff, RA 2 is good enough to not need a Remaster.

It doesn't matter, they are not gonna satisfy everyone and people will still complain if they either remake or remaster. I won't, remastering the first two games and their expansions if far better than anything else they are gonna remake/remaster.

The way they remade the assets are still only part of a remaster of the games, since they stayed very true to the original. Remakes of game would include things like new mechanics, say if they added veterancy to the game would put it over into remake territory, or if the new models had been sufficently different (or even based more around the real world versions of the tanks you could argue it, but since they stay extremely true to the original sprites, and didn't add any new gameplay elements it was purely only a remaster.

But yeah personally I would have prefer a more remake, which is why I am using the "Veterancy and more" mod on both the games in this collection, as that does make the game fell like more of a remake

It explained that the game stays the same. The way it's worded C&C RC is a remake, not a remaster.

Personally I want them to the same exact thing they did with this release. No changes to gameplay. New high quality visual assets, remastered audio and cinematics, bonus gallery and mission select.

They specifically state under the remake that "The idea of the game stays the same, but with a more modern engine, graphics and mechanics" this C&C remaster we have of the original 2 games did not have ANY of that. The graphics were just higher res version, they were not more modern otherwise, in how they looked, no new mechanics were added (the only thing really added were the tabbed sidebar, which is really the only things of this collection that could even get close to being called remake territory, buts its so minor it would be grasping at straws, and really belongs more under the QoL part, which they mention under the remaster in that survey)

If you look at the remaster part. It says "graphical tweaks, HD upscaling". Now, maybe marketers see C&C Remastered that way because it's still 2D and true to the original. But we know that visual part of the game is full remake. Every asset is new. HD upscaling and tweaks are more akin to stuff like Baldur's Gate remaster, which is just the same game with high resolution support.

Actually, it appears to be just a repost from a fan. Probably meaningless.

I love to see both of them.

TS and RA2 had a lot of cut features they wanted to implement.
Their artstyles and expert use of voxels means they'll still stay visually fresh for years to come; so they don't need a remaster YET.
Remake for sure.

I would vote for a Remake only if they could guarantee the core experience would remain very, very similar, but refined, like thy did with C&C Remastered.

I want TS and RA2, with more stuff on top, not dumbed down versions of those games.
No smaller maps, no cut missions because they were too hard, no "modern cultural sensitivity", and please bring back the Twin Towers mission.

For a Remake, a fully fledge Cabal faction and campaign, and a Yuri campaign, is what I would really want.
But i would really appreciate if everything else remains mostly the same, with some modern improvements (TS taskbar is atrocious).

Red Alert 2 is such a good game that there wouldn't be much of a difference for me personally. But having a remake with some balance changes (or at least some more prevalent air mechanics) would be welcome.

The only thing I am afraid of, is the habit of Remakes to mess up the gameplay that made the original so good.

I wouldn't want a 3D RA2, for example, as it would forcibly have smaller maps, and a host of new gameplay issues that come with 3D engines (looking at Generals faster diagonal movement).

If its from Petroglyph than definitely neither. Their RTS style is very stale and boring.

EA needs to find a new Dev for this and let Jim go or have him do something else non C&C related. They all well past their prime with C&C and it needs new, fresh content. Or just sell the license to another publisher.

Why do you think all there other tries at doing a new C&C have failed and we have seen nothing new for the series since 2010. So now all they are doing is trying to cash grab on old titles.

Look at what MSFT is doing for AoE. Those remakes are way better and they actually fix things and support it. EA doesnt care and has showed it time and time again. They release C&C remastered in June and last patch made 3 months later. Only 3 months of support? Terrible.

Red Alert 2 needs an upgraded campaign and skirmish AI more than everything.

I still remember the "epic" attack waves AI sent (4 grizzlies, lol ) or the countless campaign battles were the AI just sat still doing nothing.
