Yes same here. Covert Ops map wont run now, but standard Tiberian Dawn mission did.....

I got that error too.

@spideymp Do standard GDI and NOD campaign missions work for you? I'm unable to play anything because of that error. Did you have to disable mods or something?

Yeah, I have 2x and 5x tiberium growth mods and now they dont work because of that dll error. When I load campaign saves from yesterday the game crashes. Also I have a unit veterancy mod and that doesn't show up in the error text but other mods do. When I disable all mods i get no error at start but like I said the game crashes anyway when I load a previous campaign save.

Yes, it just means you need to disable / update your mods. Jim specifically mentioned that in the reddit post.

I’ll then reiterate this message from our previous Patch Notes. Because this patch includes updates to the TiberianDawn.dll and RedAlert.dll files, it’s likely that some previous mods will no longer be compatible with this updated version of the game. Modders will need to update their mods with the latest code and refresh their mods on the Steam Workshop.

Once a mod has been updated on the Steam Workshop, players will need to follow a few steps to update and reactivate their mods:
  • Disable the mod in the Mods Menu
  • Unsubscribe from the mod in the in-game Workshop Mods menu
  • Quit and restart the game
  • Re-subscribe to the mod via the Workshop Mods menu
  • Activate the mod and restart the game as prompted
  • The updated mod should then work as intended
Players may experience some issues if they try to activate mods which are not updated to the patch version.

Hmm strange, It worked after I disabled all the mods, I restarted my campaign mission and everything was fine. I quit the game and did everything you said nyerguds but now after I restarted i get another error. Unable to initialize Windows Audio. XAudio2 CreateMasteringVoice 0xE000020B.

yeah my campaign loaded but not covert ops after the patch. Strange, ive never loaded or used mods so funny that should be the error. My Red Alert game itself fails to load now at all. Sigh, patches that break a game that worked :-( It'll be sorted soon enough though.

As far as I understand, the Mod authors need to edit their .dll files and update their mods before we are able to subscribe to them again. Until then, we get vanilla C&C Remastered. It's basically a patch that broke everything.

Patch didn't break anything. Mods are simply for an outdated version of the game now. This is perfectly normal, and happened before with previous patches.

Yeah this is what happenes when mod support is added long after a game is developed (as the entire game logic is the litterally code from the 90's this is effectively true in this case), as the file structure was never made to be moddable outside of changing variables in rules.ini etc files. If you want truely great modding support in a game it need to be developed with that intent from the get go. Also the reason why we can only have a single game logic mod, since they all have to edit the main .dll file, so yeah keep an eye on your favourite mod and see when the author gets around to update it, and once that is happened then you can do the whole unsubscribe/resubscribe thing

Well it is listed in the patch notes themselves as well under the "Mod compatabilty" header, here on steam ;)
