Lol wut? Soviet double gun heavy tank not fictional!
All these years I thought the Red Alert's double gun soviet heavy tank was some mockery of the Soviet Union coming up with impractical designs.

Until I saw a World of Tanks video. Heck they really tried, didn't work out for them, but there really was a ridiculous looking double gun heavy tank in the Soviet Union. (don't talk about the VT-1, that thing is not a tank)

I think the Chinese Overlord tank was inspired by it!

There wasn't a single actual double-barrelled Soviet tank as far as I know. The T-34 and IS tank never went beyond the concept stage. The closest thing the Soviet had were the KV-7 and KV-7-II, which never went beyond the prototype stage and aren't tanks in a technical sense.

Hey it's TaxOwlbear from Youtube! According to Youtube(well) they've been Prototyped but not put into production.

Yeah a lot of the tanks from WoT were just blueprints or concepts. I mean, certainly the fact that some engineer considered making a double-barreled tank makes it slightly more plausible...but it still never became reality.

What do you mean that the T-34 never went beyond the concept stage? It was the Soviet main battle tank of WWII. It participated in the Battle of Kursk.

Probably just a typo.

Indeed. I think in the end it always turned out that a single bigger barrel is the better option.

I meant that the double-barrelled variants never did.

I think they're thinking of the T-35 which was a multi-turreted rather than double barrelled tank, and the only multi-turret heavy tank to go into full scale production (still only about 60) Never heard of any double-barrelled Russian tank prototypes, but there were definitely a few German ones like the Maus and the Neubau-Farzhueg

I would not want to be in a tank compartment with two gun systems, You would have to be 3 feet tall and weigh 70 pounds to have a hope of fitting in there :O
