Red Alert (remastered) hard difficulty
Is it different from the original hard? Is it unfairly difficult like the Tiberian Dawn remastered hard?

RA always had Hard difficulty so nothing should be changed there. The balancing difficulties in TD came from the fact the game never had a Hard mode before.

I could be completely wrong, but it does feel different. I was playing a mission on hard and from what I can tell the enemy hits harder, and I was surprised to be taking casualties even when I vastly outnumbered the enemy. I don't recall this being the case in the original.

Same here, I remember being able to win Soviet Volkov and Chitzoi (the tank part) and Shock Therapy easily on hard without casualty and it seems the Remastered hard is much harder to pull off.

The ''HARD'' mode as the devs call it is nothing but a super easy script that changes the player ''handicap'' by 20%
so with a few words the players buildings and units have 20% less damage output and take 20% extra damage

some units are like a pain in the ass with hard difficulty, like naval units and afthermath units, they feel way much mora than 20%. A charge of gunboat can take half of the health for a sub, and a tesla coil or tesla tank can kill a tank with one shock. Chronotanks in the enemy IA hands are inmortals, they can easily with 2 or 3 kill like 5 mammoth tanks and more, its insane sometimes the felling bkz when you have it they are usseless and expensive because you cant even kill a light tank. The other unit really OP is the bazooka, they can kill a rifleman or a tank againts all odds (the air part its ok, but agains submarines 3 shots and you are dead which doesn't make sense because a tank takes like 10 shots). Not to mention the allied helicopter, with 4 of them the IA can kill all your base if you dont have 6 sam sites in place thogether, and when you have it ind hard, you really make you pants if you see a sam site. all this especific units should be nerf because you dont have a real counter in the other side. For bazooka the counter its 10 well used MIG! for destroyer its 8 MIG again!, if they have two destroyers and a cruisser, its like endgame if you dont use the game ia bugs and have like a lot of subs and migs. it cant be that migs and massive tank overrun its the only way.

It's difficult but nothing compared to TD. If anything I'd say it's good practise before going into hard mode on TD. You just need to get your micro down and be able to work fast. Thankfully you don't need to do the expansion missions for the RA achievement. (most of which I find a bit too... experimental, for want of a better word)
