Is there a code to just skip a stupid mission?
Great game except for stupid garbage timed missions. The one I am taking about is where you try to get engineers to survive and plant bombs. It doesn't even make sense and should not have even been a part of the game.

You must not be a 90s kid. There was nothing to look it up on, back then. You just bought the strategy guide, or you figured it out yourself. Internet was a luxury that barely anyone had access to, and which contained far less than it does nowadays.

Heh, I didn't even finished the first Allies indoor mission (the one where you have to deactivate the atomic missiles) in the 90s.

Beaten it first time on the first decade pack, without looking at guides. Just keep playing until you win. Same goes for all missions.

you're definitely not a 90s kid, strategy guides (actual physical books) is how we looked things up. there was no google, no bing and the internet was slower than molasses

Way to out yourself as being ignorant, lol.

AltaVista and Yahoo were around, along with a bunch of directory-based web portals. There were tons of text-based game guides too.

Oh look, You specifically didn't quote my post, which pointed out the fact that people simply didn't tend to have internet in these days. Sure there were search sites, but spend more than an hour on something and you got a phone bill of an hour.

I started playing in 1999, and even then most people I knew didnt have internet at that time. My family did but we can't use our house phone when using the internet. We just exchanged information and experience about the games with friends at school. Me and my siblings were considered fortunate to have nerd gaming cousins who knew a lot about the 90s games and taught us all the cheat codes before we know how to use the internet. Good times.

I played the campaign back then, and if I find a mission difficult, I usually asked my brother to play it for me or pick a different mission variant. Eventually, I learn that I just gotta keep playing and learn from the failures.

When did GameFAQs go up? Anyway, I remember having a physical book strategy guide to RA1, and it didn't really accurately describe what happened in the missions. I also remember it telling me that artillery could outrange Tesla coils, lol.

As I said, doesn't mean people had access to it.

Yea, those strat guides contained some weird stuff. Magazines with walkthroughs were usually more helpful, but I never had the money to buy those either.
i seen the title and had to come see. wow really, "these game is to hard threads "in so many games and the players always want to cheat skip pr rage quit. not an ounce of patience to learn a different strategy. then come to steam and post. now i know why people just post get good and nothing more. i think its more frustrating for actual game players to read these people giving up. started gaming in 1979 . trust me, no internet. just books from the library lol. no regen life, restart levels from scratch every death lol. games were a lot harder. and any easter eggs were spread by word of mouth or found pure accident. lol fun times.

To be fair, there are indeed some absolutely nonsensically hard missions in the game, like Allies 10 in Red Alert, where you inherit the timer from the previous mission and this is not clear at all the first time you play, and you probably need to restart the first part of the mission to get a decent time in the indoor part; and GDI 8B in Tiberian Dawn, where you have to babysit a bunch of civilians which you can't control and which are technically even hostile to you.
