Most people bought for campaigns, maybe some mp matches with friends, but that's it
Pretty sure CnC's multiplayer only got big (relative) during Red Alert 2 and Generals.
Not buying the game has nothing to do with it.
Myself I dont care about C&C mp and only bought it for sp.
Buying C&C for any other reason is dumb.
At og release it might have been worth buying for multiplayer, but nowdays there are so many more rts games that just does multiplayer way better.

Well I've played the game for 40 hours and haven't got those achievements because I started with RA and its expansions. That's why the achievements are so spread out.
In Starcraft 2, which is the most popular competitive RTS game right now, its most popular mode is Co-op Commanders. Most people play co-op there.
