Build Order for Red Alert Standard Quickmatch?
Hello, just got this game, a lot of the build orders online seem to be out of date. What kind of stuff do you guys usually do? I've been playing Soviets, is it better to play Soviets or Ukraine?

My build order has been

Power Plant
Barracks
Refinery
War Factory
(Sell Barracks)
War Factory
Refinery
Power Plant
Refinery
Refinery
Refinery
Advanced Power Plant
War Factory

Thanks! Not an RTS noob but I'm a nood when it comes to this game. I never got to play Red Alert 1 until now.

Your build order should be quitting multi and playing single player first. This game was built around single player experience, with multiplayer being a bonus.

Its one of the best ways to learn any rts.
Unless you want to rage quit every time someone wipes you from the game.

Don't want possible answers you might not like? Don't make posts you can easily get the answer to by yourself.

That build order is fine. Make enough infantry to scout, and to see if the guy wants to infantry rush you in which you can just make more men and stand them around the entrances. Standing infantry always beat moving infantry 1 for 1.

You can opt to build an extra ore truck or two depending on available resources. Most maps you can make 2 ores, 2 wars and then sell your Con Yard. If you are far away from your opponent, selling your con yard isnt recommended and going for a more economical approach is much better.
I like to have 5-6 trucks in total before my 3rd war factory as Russia. Russia is usually easier since you spend credits slower and won't risk going broke and halting your production entirely. Most builds are about placing ore in efficient locations and sustaining enough money to build units and structures without going broke.

IMPORTANT
If you spend a lot of money on infantry early game for any reason (rushing/defending an infantry rush), doing a [pow - bar - ore - war - ore] opening will help with your economy, and then make your 2nd war factory after.

On Shallow Grave (small map with the big lake in middle) - I do pow, bar, naval, ore, war, ore, war. If you are Russia, you can use a sub pen to sneak some grenadiers across via transport and try to kill undefended structures.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I'll also try to keep those steam degenerates off of this post xD

Thanks for the info, that's really helpful, do you know how many maps are in rotation currently? I seem to have a hard time finding enemy bases for some reason.

It's still one of the best ways to learn, since a large amount of multiplayer games will result in you being wiped very quickly from various kinds of rushes depending on the map.

If you think that's bait, then as expected, you really can't be helped if you're not smart enough to figure it out yourself or listen to feedback that doesnt pander to you.

Don't ask quickmatch help on these forums, these are filled with singleplayer veterans only. Go to reddit or any other forum if you want to find useful information.
