TW GDI final mission - AI cheating
For the first time I managed to reach GDI final mission. However, I'm really struggling with finishing it. After hours I was finally able to destroy or capture their crucial stuctures (airfield, Construction Yard). I thought, that destroying their production structures will make rest of this mission easier.

Well, nope. After 2 minutes they REBUILD their Construction Yard out of nowhere. Meanwhile I'm left without any resources. Any ideas or tips how am I supposed to manage this situation?

There is no point in slow and methodical destroying of their structures, because they can rebuild anything faster than I can train any units.

Mammoth Tanks are suprisingly weak and feel like waste of money. Ion Cannon barely damages anything except defense structures. I can't use Orcas, because they constantly rebuild SAM sites. I'm running out of ideas :) Everything would be fine, but AI abbility to rebuild CY, like any other structure, feels really cheap. Even though I understand this is final mission and it's supossed to be challenging.

APC engi rush during assault on their base. Capture all their buildings. Sell silos when you're out of money, so they will rebuild and fil them again. Capture again, use the money, etc.etc.

And don't capture all their buildings in base (leave them one power plant) to prevent launching nuke (they have multiple nukes).

They have a hidden construction yard in the northern east.

Location of their second CY depends on mission variant.

AI logic in campaign is basically 'cheating', I don't think this can be 'fixed'. When making a map you have to assign all the enemy buildings you want to see being rebuilt, AI ignores ground control, they can build anywhere. If they had a power plant and you capture the whole base but leave this 'spot' empty, the AI will rebuild that power plant there. I don't think this can be fixed without altering the whole map editor.
The cheat around this is to place 1 minigunner on every building location after you destroy them so the AI can't rebuild them.
In the final GDI Missions the NOD got 2 CY and they can rebuild a lost CY as a building. Also they can place buildings where they got buildings before, or better said they can rebuild them without having anything close. So the only way is to block these spots or take out both CYs.

Thank for tips :) I didn't know they have another CY. I think I will restart it again, since I don't have more tiberium and all fields are depleted :D

or a sandbag ;-)

The good thing with RA was that the IA wasn't cheating as much. You did'nt have to rely on cheap tricks to complete the missions.

The AI will rebuild from time to time. I had them rebuild their nod barracks a second time on me in one of the early missions whilst doing the cleanup after I had finished. Sneaky old nod managed to build about 5-6 new units before I realised I had to get back there and demolish that thing.,

Given how limited resources are in TD/RA, it's really important to spend your resources efficiently. Don't waste lots of money turtling up, don't waste too much time doing so either (that lets the AI get a larger share of the map's resources).

In GDI's last mission, what do you actually need? A few orcas, a few MLRS, lots of mammoth tanks, one APC to ferry engineers around, engineers as required, and maybe one guard tower on the route enemy infantry attack you at the start. And humvees to scout, but that should go without saying on any mission.

A couple of advanced guard towers can be useful, but mostly as nuke-bait, the AI seems to find them irresistible, so do yourself a favour and don't put any units near them.

Alternatively you could just sandbag cheese to victory.

I just captured two bases with all buildings, so they cannot rebuild them. I noticed, that capturing certain power plant (instead of destroying it) will not trigger nuke attacks, so it also makes this mission a lot easier.

Thank you guys for help :) Now I'm heading for the temple - wish me luck :D

If I remember correctly:
- destroying or capturing all important (hand of Nod, airstrip, power plants) buildings in the closest Nod base - nuke
- attack on the temple - nuke

Mammoths are weak? I took 12 of them and destroyed both bases quickly. :S

Destroying them triggers nuke, that I can confirm. But nothing happened when I captured them. I even encountered funny situation - I captured power plant, which would trigger nuke attack if destroyed. Nothing happened. I selled it - still nothing. AI build another PP in the same place. I destroyed it and then they nuked me.

Anyway, I finally completed GDI campaign :) Now it's time for NOD.

Well, I mean they are pretty expensive and can be destroyed easily without support. It was difficult to build that many during constant attacks.

Well, I have different experience with capturing buildings in that mission. Maybe it depends on which version is played.

its beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded how the AI can do whatever the ♥♥♥♥ it wants I tried to starve it but it has infinite resources so the only way to play is rush / cheese
