Engineers BUG - Red Alert ( SOLVED)
Anyone else experienced their Engineers failing to capture buildings in Red alert?? They go in, but nothing happens? This happend several times already. They work fine in Tiberium Dawn.

Red Alert has diferent building capture game mechanic. First you must damage building to red life bar. You don't remember it from the 1990s?

on the PS1 it takes 5 engineers but on PC it's 4, a good way to do it is to pre damage the building with units than use your engineers

Lol really??? I can't remember that at all, that was more then 20 years ago, thanks guys!

I think this is a legit moment to say i'm getting to old for this crap...

For me my Engineers cannot repair Buildings in Tiberian Dawn.
Did that feature just exist Red Alert?

I am wondering about this.

As I am sure that even if I used 5 engineers on PS1, I just needed 4 to capture a fully repaired main building and used the fifth engineer to repair it then.

Here on PC, I just need 3 engineers to capture a fully repaired main building and can use the fourth to repair it.
Even though I have no proof for the first, I have one for the latter:

Who played these game on PS1 anyway ? ;-)

Ohhh, I really didn't want to start on it... XD

I think that it only took me 3 hrs for a regular skirmish match on PS1 as the game slowed down A LOT after a few minutes into it.

I always used the map with the many isles and the big one in the middle with crystals to harvest.
Against 3 opponents where I needed one from the allied team to take over their tech by capturing them.

I always used the highest speed option, but as I said: After a while even the PS2 was at its limits and made the game running in slow motion. XD

So it's actually pretty unfamiliar for me that a match is running that fluent. ^^
But I guess my CPU is laughing its ass off to not fall asleep even with 7 opponents. XD

In Red Alert, they used the same method as Dune 2 had. In order to capture a building, it's health must be red; otherwise the Engineer will just cause it massive damage. The idea was to make Engineer spam less effective; since it was highly abused in Tiberium Dawn to beat missions easily.

On the other hand, in RA it just tends to not work against the AI because they sell heavily damaged buildings. In Dune II that wasn't a thing since you couldn't sell buildings.
