Can't get mods to install, any ideas?
I have added a couple mods using the game interface and it says they are installed and checked off, but they never work. When I check the mods folder in the documents directory, it's empty despite the game telling me they are installed. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

only one DLL mod at a time

Having this same issue. Can't get any mods to work, it's annoying as hell.

some mods work differnet from others. i think its better to turn on mods made by the same person because they know the files they are editing and theres no conflict with each other.

this aint 100% accurate but it makes sense that the maker knows what he's doing with all the files he edited

Sure it does. I added one mod and it didn't work. I removed it and tried another. It didn't work. I removed it and tried another. It didn't work. It't not unique to any mod creator, and having more than one installed at a time has nothing to do with it.

Had the same issue. Some mods are obivious when they're working and others aren't. But there is a way to make the mods work 95% of the time - I've had only one mod fail to work in those I've tested.

Load up the game, go to Options/Accessiblity, Mods tab, select the mod(s) you want. Click on Apply or Close. Now close the game, shut it down completely. Wait a minute. Start the game up. Mods should now work.

u mean restart steam or the computer @kyonko?
Jeff Jun 11, 2020 @ 5:26am
Restarting doesn't help, either. I still don't know what's causing the problem, but I think it's not working because Steam isn't actually downloading the mods. I assume that whatever mods I subscribe to are supposed to be in my CnCRemastered/Mods folder, correct? Because that folder is empty for me.

Edit: just realized OP said the same thing.

Either or both. I had to restart the game before they worked on my end.

If Steam isn't downloading the mod(s), subscribe and unsubcribe from the mod(s), check file intergity, reboot PC, subscribe to the mod(s) again and check to make sure Steam is downloading 'em.

Turns out Steam is downloading them - I misunderstood where they'd be, they're actually in the Steam Workshop folder rather than the game folder itself. I'll try rebooting my PC, since it's about the only thing left I haven't tried.

So I think I figured out what my problem was. I had been activating mods and loading mid-battle saves to check if they were working, to no avail. When I started a new battle with the mod enabled, it worked as intended.

Yeah sadly alot of mods edit DLLs, and thus they cannot be used together. Would be nice if there was a way to label this better for future mods (since obviously many modders do not tell you this on their own)
