it is still a challenge. i used it now for the other A,B,C scenarios that you also have to beat for the achievement. but i could not be bothered with it anymore to beat almost identical missions on this ridiculous excuse for a hard difficulty.
They key is a lot of safe games.
1. You need to know which attack is coming and counter it as best as you can.
2. Safe game and continue step 1.
I basically outlasted the AI and finished with a massive tank and APC attack
Also a traffec jam happend in one of the maps which made it "easier"
I have completed every mission in the game on hard (GDI / Covert / Console / Dino / Nod up to 8A/B) and I cannot beat either Nod 8A or 8B.
I have watched countless youtubes of people both sandbagging, and just building up an army of mediums and APCs, but I am not even getting close!!
I manage to get a couple guard towers up, and by then usually the first airstrike hits and either kills or seriously hurts my harvester. If it lives, it dies shortly after to infantry fire.
I am determined to beat all missions on hard and get that achievement, but man this is trying me.
The grenadiers are just god mode.
I intend to get back to this game soon™ and try and do 8B (over) again but I wanted to try and see if the videos in this guide will work for me as well. Maybe it will for you at least.

I really have not much more "pointers" than i already mentioned. I just can repeat myself by saying that it is in fact the hardest mission of Tiberian Dawn (8B Nod, in my opinion). Not long after i beat it they came up with a patch to make it easier/fairer. There is also a mod that changes the values of hard as if you choose normal.
But no matter what, there are so many factors of luck and cheese involved that it is not even fun anymore after a few trys. I ultimately won by sneaking in some infantry/engineers in their backdoor after i stabilized, with the same helicoper you get at the start. so i could stop the endless flow by overtaking the construction yard etc.
Here again some "pointers":
- set your game speed slider to the slowest to give you time to react and plan out in advance
- use the sandbag abuse as soon as possible
- try to avoid/get lucky with the completely bonkers airstrikes that come in regulary (spread units)
The ai has very simple and predictable routines.
Build a single Sam site anywhere to divert air strikes from your harvesters.
Against grenadiers swarms, you just need to get them aggroed by some turrets and then send 1or 2 flame guys on their flanks while they focus on the turrets (repair them while they are under attack).
