Red Alert 1 is fun but not well balanced
Allied light tanks with 10% range buff from greek commander are to strong. Soviets tanks are to slow and cant do anything. We need a balance patch.

You'll have to move to OpenRA if you want that. It won't happen here.

OpenRA is hurting my eyes. So no, I wont do that. Maby we get an alternative mode, because it would be sad to waste this opportunity, because its really a fun game.

The game is moddable; what do you mean "it won't happen here"?

what if they balanced it and then it wasnt fun? also pro tip stay 10% farther away from light tanks.

Isn't Greece and Spain new countries on this one? They aren't in the original one and their buffs are also new ones

EDIT: Turkey too

All the classic faction bonuses, and maybe some of the new ones, make Light Tank rush crazy strong still.

10% build speed bonus will make that Light Tank rush hit faster. 10% firepower or RoF bonus (which I believe they fixed in the remaster, as in classic it was misprogrammed and used to make you fire slower) will give them an easier time levelling whatever they decide to point their cannons at. And 10% armour bonus will make them harder to shift from your base (and turns Light Tanks from a single Tesla shot kill, to a two Tesla shot kill - that's critical). The 10% range bonus may well actually be the least beneficial of those, seems a 10% range bonus isn't even an entire cell (it's actually less than half a cell).

Fortunately, it seems 1vs1 quick match doesn't give anybody any country bonuses.

Turkey, Greece and Spain are newly added to multiplayer, yes. They were in the original game but only as mission/campaign factions. They were not enabled for multiplayer and had no stat bonuses.

A balanced game is less fun?

Turkey are also new afaik.
The original lineup in RA on PS1 was Soviets, Ukraine, England, Germany, France.

CnCNet made Spain,Greece, and Turkey playable years ago. They actually were always in the game but only used for computer units and buildings in single player missions (or some custom maps). Also in the original RA multiplayer, France was mistakenly given slower firing rate and England was given weaker armor, making Germany the only good Allied nation. CnCNet just gave them all Germany's firepower bonus instead or some custom maps fix what was originally intended, but the remaster also fixes them.

RA has some weird unit balance with Allies have all the smaller stuff and Soviets having just a few different badass units. I liked TD's selections of units much better so I like mods and map mods that turned RA into TD. Crossover map mods I made that allow Allies vs GDI vs Nod vs Soviet at once don't work as intended in the remasters, but I know that better versions are capable with the modding ability, as long as they enable mods in multiplayer with other people.

Faction bonuses are non-existent. Just start a skirmish game and compare USSR with Ukraine or Turkey with France. I don't know if this is a feature (balance?) or a bug.

Curious about balance mods in workshop. Are mods useble in multiplayer or are they strictly for single player?

you can beat the soviets nearly 100% of the time by spamming light tanks.

I have the same question, yesterday I try to play with the mods in skyrmish, the zoom mod runs in single player too. I am not sure

Yes they are after building a powerplant with USSR I went from 10.000 to 9.730 credits, ie 270 cost which is 10% less than the 300 that is normally required, so yeah do some actual testing before you talk about bugs, dont just think that tooltips always reflect everything
