For all the idiots saying "Git gud." You need to understand there is a difference between difficulty, and just cheap. This isn't a matter of getting good, it's a matter of luck as opposed to skill. On hard, if you and the enemy have the same number of basic units; you lose because the enemy shoots more then you do. And deploys new units faster.
This just encourages cheesing enemies and sandbagging their base off so they can't do anything. And if that is something you need to do to win; that's not good.
They are not very close to unwinable but feel 100% more difficult.
There is even achievements that want you to finish missions on hard difficulty. And with that noticeable unfairness and bull* AS WELL AS the game feeling different to control, this is quite a challenge. I am still not convinced that Normal is the original difficulty.
Again, I play the game every year, multiple times since 20 or so. And I tell you, they need to find a different way to make the game harder, without being this * unfair.
but retains the AI behaviour as in the events and how they go about building and attacking.
In age of empires 2, the remaster got an AI upgrade. Which was great for skirmishes, but also made the campaigns tedious or downright impossible to complete. They were balanced with the old passive AI in mind
Here it’s the same with the hard difficulty on TD. The campaign was balanced to be a challenge on it’s own, without any buffs/nerfs to units

Because I'm not dealing with unfairness.
And I did notice that unit speed was slower too!!! Even had to increase gamespeed to faster. I didnt even think it was deliberate.
I recommend looking up the hotkeys in the menu, it can save you a lot of trouble.
