Install this mod to remove the overpowered ai damage.

HAHAHA, that doesn't "balance" hard mode, it just changes hard mode back into normal. I guess if you just want the acheivement, but there are NO AI scripting differences on the difficulties in the campaign, just stat changes for casual or hard. All this mod does is make normal and hard identical.

Very hard mission on hard mode. Took me multiple tries. Even the normal one can be tricky. Try luring enemy grenadiers one by one and take the north route to the village and ignore the southwest path

Happy to make you laugh. Good for you

But besides all that, increasing the damage of ai units while decreasing the player damage creates a real imbalance in certain missions. In the missions with base building the difficulty isnt so bad but on others, it sucks and i personally dont like non base building missions. Never have, never will so being stuck for too long on one of those really takes the fun out of the game for me and anyone else who doesnt want to get bored and frustrated.

Im sure you wont agree but i dont really care. He can use the mod if it help or not, his choice. No one is forcing anyone

Sure he can, but he can also just play normal then, because there is no difference.

I was actually hoping that the developers implemented a little bit more to increase the difficulty. If the stat change is practically the only difference, it is kind a of a cheap way of doing it. And not suitable for this particular game because it was never designed for a hard mode.

I am going to restart on normal and when i finish that i will retry hard with the mod to see what the difference will be. I truly hope the hard mode is more than just the stat difference.

Exactly. Naturally he can choose to use the mod and I think it's silly for anyone to be some sort of "achievement fairness police" or "fun police." It's his game, he should play it how he wants. It just seems very silly to me to bother with a mod that just makes hard and normal identical. Normal already exists, who what is the point of the mod? If it's just to get the hard mode achievement, why not use an achievement hack or just go find and use a God Mode mod to just get the achievement since at that point that's the only goal? If the goal is to have a balanced, and actually fairly challenging experience, then just play on normal. It's right there and all the mod does is let you play on that same EXACT difficulty with ZERO changes and then tell you you did it on hard. It doesn't affect gameplay at all, it's only practical purpose is getting an achievement.

some of us actually like the challenge without cheating

There is difference between normal and hard besides stats. The AI has more cash, build more force and attack more aggressive. For example in GDI mission on Ukraine when you play on hard the AI build more light tanks.

The hard mode in TD is broken, maybe it's a challenge in some way, but it's bad design and that is for sure. It's is so bad that even casual mode shows why messing with stats can broke the game.

on casual gdi 12 (the bottom left base map) the heli survives on casual mode so you just have to kill 3 sam sites to complete the map

The mod to reduce IA damage in hard is not mandatory to complete this mission. (just wait nod8 haha)
First: reduce game speed to low or moderate. You will need to micro your units.
Kill all enemies one by one. Try to get the focus on fast units you can retreat, while others units kill your target.
To kill tanks, you can use the bike which is fast enough to avoid shells.

You also need to kill all civilians. Some of them will go to the south west village.
