Saving - am I doing it wrong?
If I press save the game opens a window where I can enter a name for my savegame and my progress gets saved. In old C&C there was a real save menu where I was able to overwrite existing saves.

Is that hidden somewhere in the remaster? As you have to save often in C&C that new system creates a bloated list of savegames. You can delete them manually from the list, but it would be best if there was no savegamelist-bloating at all.

I found the quicksave-combination. Default CTRL-N is a bad choice, you need both hands or one really big hand to make a quicksave. Changed that with CTRL-S.

But is there no quickload?

BTW: There are really to much hotkeys in the remaster. At least 50 for each side. Who is going to memorize them all? I stay with classic controls.

Yeah I rebound quicksave to F5 like it traditionally is. Doesn't seem to be a quickload.

I agree the manual save menu is awful and doesn't actually seem to be a menu at all. End up with literal hundreds of saves after a while. No idea why this system was made objectively worse :steamfacepalm:

Nope, the save system in this remaster is just awful and it needs to be redone. If there's one thing I hate, it's this.

Okay, so I am not totally dumb and they really need to work this part of the game over. Thanks.

Yeah I agree. I'd prefer to overwrite saves rather than making new ones each time.

+1 to all of the above.
Save system is - to put it mildly - weird.

I'd realy like to know why they thought that would be the best way to do it.
As it stands, it reminds me of a wainwright who decided to reinvent the wheel and placed the hub off-center for the sake of "inovation"...

Oh, quicksaves get also added to the list of savegames. yep, that thing is going to be 100s of entries long within a few days.

*Few hours if you're anything like me =(

Anyone know where the savegame folder is? Might be easier to do housekeeping and delete things out manually rather than from ingame at this point...

For Windows You find the savegames in user\documents\CnCRemastered\Save

Quickload has been added.

I changed the keybindings to
F5 quicksave
F9 quickload
