Multiplayer options greyed out

When selecting Skirmish/Online (Tiberium Dawn) the options for quickmatch, host and join are greyed out, so I cant even access multiplayer (let alone get kicked, time out etc). Is this an underlying issue or possibly the online service temporarily pulled due to the issues others appear to be experiencing with performance?

disable all ur mods and then wait, it takes a moment when it's strained yeah :(

Seems like they shut the online services now for over 30 minutes.

just checked, it's still up and working for me.

I can confirm now it does appear to be the Game/EA's side - out of nowhere the buttons suddenly became visible and I was able to get a full game without issue. Just after the game was exited, I was booted out of the lobby due to connectivity lost.

Looks like it could just be sheer load after all

Try restarting the game, i got mine enabled after a restart, maybe try restarting Steam, for authentication.

I have the same issue. It's on and off. I've maanged to play 2 online games, and then it grays out.

Try disabling mods.

Yea, multiplayer getting greyed out is always and only the result of activating mods, as far as I know. Even mods that only make UI changes (like changes/upgrades/fixes in text, audio or graphics) without a game core dll file will still disable multiplayer compatibility, since they allow people that make changes that might give them advantages in multiplay (like extra zoom levels, more visible radar colours, etc).

And it comes with a pretty visible text notice at the bottom of the screen saying why it's greyed out.
