These sprites are essentially like a mini 'video' file.
A lot of 2D action/fighting games will cut frames on purpose to make big hits seem more "impactful".
This is not a 3D game. The Unit animations for example, only update every so many frames anyways. Its not the same as having a full rotating 3D camera on top of fully 3D animated units.
The 2D units themselves probably only update 20-30 frames a second. Even the Starcraft Remaster was like that.
I guarantee, the only reason you notice it is because you're probably staring at your fps counter. If there is stuttering because of the bridge exploding or something, its again, probably on purpose.
Yeah , I tried to mean that I am having stuttering. It's not a big deal but gets annoying sometimes.
