Not sure why you'd want to, though. Customisability for the construction shortcuts is one thing, but this is just the game's basic controls. There's no need to change them.
Then another way to use is select some units and let them protect unit you're controlling, then when you controlling main force, rest units will follow main force and attack enemy near main force.
Maybe this is not the best way to use, but this can make you focus on take out opponent's main building or other things.
Another way is Q and G
Press G then hold Q, but this need to keep pressing G and click on ground, also will have a little delay, but good when using tanks against lots infantry, you can attack and moving at same time.
