you need an EA account, which is the same as an ORIGIN account ( both use the same login information)(it has been this way since 2015)

you WILL NOT need to download the ORIGIN client.

EDIT: it has just been announced that the only thing you need for the Steam version is Steam.

Also, the login is a one time activation.

I looked at the store page (top to bottom), there's no mention on needing an Origin account (all other "new" games do). But we can wait until tomorrow to be sure.

You probably need to register an EA account, to which the game will register to on EA's part.
You don't have to open Origin to run the game though.

This way you will have the game both on Steam and Origin, if you ever need for some reason to run origin lol.

Jim Vessella informed us that they actually changed that, but he didn't get around to announcing that anywhere. So, you don't need an EA account.

To play the game online you do need ea account, however you can still play single player without it.

just to clarify this i can start the game and just play singleplayer without creating some kind of accout or logging extra in into something

The Steam version of the Remasters does not require you to link your Steam account to an Origin account, or that you must have Origin installed to play.

i have no clue it seems you dont need an origin account but some people still say you need some sort of ea account whatever that is

ea account and origin account is basically the same thing
