Map editor with units and buildings.
Will you be able to place them down? I have so many memories of making awesome Nod bases!

Yes! The Map Editor can create both single-player and multiplayer maps. We're excited to see what the community creates!

So yes, rest assured, you can place units and buildings in it :)

Hmm, skirmish and 4x4 mapmaking is one thing, but singleplayer mapping has me intrigued. I wonder how indepth you can go with triggers and scripted events etc.

In general, think of every type of events that occur in the missions, and you'll have a fairly good idea what the scripting engine of each game is capable of. In Red Alert, that's a lot more than in C&C.

These scripting guides should give some hints:

C&C1:
http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/cctxt/ccmanual.txt

Red Alert:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/196962-command-and-conquer-red-alert/faqs/1701

Note that these guides mention that the formats still contain a lot of unknown stuff, generally in triggers and team types. The Remaster's editor, however, is built by people with access to the source code, so all these unknowns should be labelled now.

I believe you can plop things down in skirmish maps as well if I'm not mistaken.

Yea, but the AI of such things is generally hostile to everyone on the map.

True but I got ways around that. I just like to fart around in it anyway.
But I do take it serious when I feel like murdering everything lol. :steamhappy:

Nice! I had never touched the editor's for these particular games before, but I've dabbled in and did my fair share of strung together Starcraft maps with triggers and what-not back in the day.
Will be interesting to delve into and check this out.
I have to admit at the first mention of the map editor in the reveal trailer and features, I just assumed skirmish/multiplayer but this opens it up and increases the value substantially :D
