How so? Because they used the same engine? I don't know man: three distinct factions, buildable terrain scarcity, environmental factors that forced more micromanaging of harvesters than RA. Sounds to me like there was more going on than just a "hUr DuR rEsKin."

Recycled Assets. Recycled Animations. Unchanged AI. 3 factions wasn't a huge deal when base variety was essentially the same. Editing rules.ini in red alert 1 allowed modders to create many factions (can't remember exactly how much but I think it's 8) with distinct trees based on country type

Even spice harvesting was left unchanged with free moving harvesters. Harvesters should require ornithopter for movement.

Dune 2000 plays like a red alert mod. I get it that we were kids when we played Dune 2000 and kids are easily impressed. But looking at it objectively, it was kind of meh

It is using a different engine like Nyer said. Unchanged AI? The AI is completely different. I'm not talking about the fact it builds 3 more tanks for an attack than ra1, i'm talking about a totally different AI structure. Totally different AI mechanics. This is coming from a guy who researched the game engine, its files and their formats and everything else about it for years, so trust me, they are different as day and night. Don't let graphics fool you they are the same under the hood as well.

Harvesters actually could have a Carryall transporting them, just like Dune 2. How is that the same as RA1 is beyond me.

While not impossible. The problem with those games is the DUNE IP. From what I know Funcom has currently the game rights (but I'm not sure if they are exclusive).

What I really want it a Dune 1 Remake.

A Dune 1 remake would be great, though it shouldn't stray to far from the source material. Shame this really great adventure/strategy hybrid is so underappreciated.
Emperor: Battle for Dune remake would be awesome. I loved that game. My damn harvesters were always getting sand wormed.

Damn sandworms.

Due 2 lovely game, but Emperor: Battle for Dune remake .. that'll be amazing. The music (really the Harkonnen stuff mostly) alone is amazing, still listen to the soundtrack today
anyone can mod !! in RA 1 or C&C remaster LUL

Ya im sad, that nobody made a mod or remake for "Emperor" such a great game..
The issue with Dune remasters (and even new Dune games) isn't so much EA, but the Herbert estate and their license. The original license expired, which means that would require renegotiating the license; someone actually asked the estate keeper and if I remember his objection to a remaster of any of the four Dune games (three if you count Dune 2/Dune 2000 as one) was, "What's old should stay old."

Dune 2000 was a lazy reskin of red alert 1 anyway. I don't think it'll take much
yeah i didnt like that one , it was buggy too

+1, I'm eagerly waiting for a remastered version too ! So much fun with dozens of decisions to be made while be attacked/ambushed everywhere, a bit of immersion in the "Dune" universe, the Fremens, Tleilaxu...
They would need the license to Dune. This likely will not happen. Unless they still have it, I guess. Otherwise, I don't see EA putting forth the money to utilize the license.

Dune II/2000/Battle for Dune were amazing! Definitely would love a remake (or new game).
