The Main argument that 'RA2 doesn't need a remaster' I disagree with.
I would love to see the game get a fresh coat of pain and have it get upscaled to 4K along with the QOL improvements like running normally on a modern system without patches or compatibility modes, a zoom function or perhaps the simple ability to alt+tab.
I can get the main game running, with a graphics patch to 1440p but even then it likes to bug out. Yuri's Revenge is more of a trouble. I can't get it to work properly as soon as I load the game the screen goes purple and has more artifacts than the warehouse at the end of Raiders.
If they do remaster these games, it will take 2 or 3 years (First TS or bundled together). That will put the game well over the 20 years old. It fully deserves a remaster at that point.
+1
Money talks and EA knows that alot of fans want a remaster of Red Alert II. However it doesn't mean they will do it. It really depends on their sale for this current remaster. It is a test of sorts to measure how much c&c as its genre is worth. Has it died out or is there still money to be made...
I believe that children are so upset, because they do not know how to wait, they are always suffering for the future.
Calm people, if this remastered sells well, we may see others. I am one that I really want one of the tiberium sun, but I am not disturbing others on the forum.
They want to support, whoever sees more remastered, buy this and stop pissing. Guys keep sending spam from generals, guys, it could be and it could be.
I would not expect anything from EA, it was a miracle to appear this remaster of the first C and C, so it is waiting. I don't know if it will take another year, 2 maybe 5 years for us to see something more.
Buy or not buy, it's that simple. What the company understands is numbers. In the end, the rights of the games belong to EA.
they cant run it on modern hardware
But yea, TS had unfinished features like the dropship loadout that were really just starting to bloat the game. We don't need those back; they ended up not developing the game in that direction, meaning the missions are also not developed to use the feature.
It's actually my hope that if/when we get the TS remaster, they'll go back and add features like that in full. For TD/RA1 I understand the desire to be as true to the original games as possible, but for TS/RA2 (mostly TS) I would love if they went more for a remake, rather than a pure remaster.
I agree that some optional deleted stuff is cool, I'm just saying it's not in the scope of a remaster to "finish Tiberian Sun" as OP wishes for some reason. Base content should be true to the original. But if there's some deleted missions devs can restore that would be awesome.

It was supposed to give you the ability to tweak which units you wanted to start a mission with. Some modders / hackers apparently managed to reactivate it and made a mission that had it working as it was supposed to. I never saw it at work myself though.
The dropship would drop the units off at a Dropship Bay, somewhat like how the Starport in Dune games works. The dropship bay building actually exists in the game.
Wiki entry, including the concept art and in-game appearance:

Several fragments of a video showing a dropship landing on the dropship bay and unloading an MCV exist too. I stitched those together, a long time ago, but only a small portion of it has sound:

Red Alert 2 and TibSun with their lighting would look incredible at 4K tbqh.
and wtf do you mean it doesnt need one? its dated as hell damn near 20 years now since it first dropped, it definitely could use a fresh new coat of paint, quality of life improvements especially to the side bar, unit models getting tightened up and so much more dude.
