I use Manhunt Fixer and then the game doesn't open anymore

To fix the game i used the manhunt fixer, i do everything right but when i try to open the game it doesn't open anymore

Hell yeah, I've had this problem for three months. Done all sorts of different fixers, versions, installs and more, and it doesn't work. Hopefully Ermaccer will see this!

You absolutely did not do everything right if your game isn't opening anymore.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you downloaded the source files from github instead of the actual exe from the releases page, or put in the wrong folder path. All you do is paste in where Manhunt is installed (eg D:/SteamLibrary/SteamApps/common/Manhunt), choose what fixes you want applied, then click the Patch button.

Did all that, doesn't work. Checked frequent issues, none apply. Done manual installs, doesn't work. Done all compatibility and it still doesn't work.

Have you verified integrity on Steam to make sure your install doesn't have something wrong with it?

It'd be easier if you just join the Manhunt Discord and ask ermaccer for help directly, though.

That would be incredible, thank you. I did verify steam integrity and it still won't work.

I was honestly scared that with everything going on in the East that ermaccer either didn't want to help Westerners or wasn't allowed to or was currently serving and or killed.

There's no "fix", there's nothing wrong with the Fixer, you're doing something wrong on your end.

The last person that joined the Manhunt Discord saying they had this issue turned out to have downloaded the wrong files somehow. Make sure you're clicking the big "Download" text on ermaccer's Steam guide, under the "Download & Credits" step/category, not the "Source Code" link directly under that, and not the individual files further down that are for the manual method.

You'll know you did it right if you end up with a zip file that just contains one file, "Fixer.exe".

If you still have issues after that, then join the Discord link in my last comment, go to the support channel, and someone will help figure out what the problem is.

same issue, even after uninstalling/reinstalling on a clean folder, checking all boxes to see if that would even work, verifying the integrity of the files, nothing. Tried joining the disc but got no help

Okay, this has been fixed for me, it was a very deep issue. For some reason, even as the admin of my computer, DEP was not enabled (Data Execution Prevention), went into CMD to type the proper command to reset this, and it still didn't work. Had to reinstall windows to get it to work. It should be noted that the fixer uses DEP. Check your PC settings and ensure that DEP is turned on.
