Singleplayer-- "You or your opponent disconnected"

Just got the game and I'm trying to start playing. However, when I select the singleplayer option, I can only get as far as selecting my bot before I get an error message saying "You or your opponent disconnected." Any idea on what causes this?

Stuck on "Connecting to master server..."

Heyo I got this game three days ago, got this message, and then tried again tonight and got the same message. Nothing happens, I can't join or even get to the main menu. Is there a way I can get it to work?
