Sleeping bag?

I have a sleeping bag but can't figure out how to use it. Nor is google of any help.
Do i just "sleep on the ground" and the sleeping bag works by not giving me a debuff or what's the trick?

In your inventory when you click on the sleeping bag it gives you a "Deploy" option.
After clicking that your view closes the bag and a little green sleeping bag shows up near your cursor for you to place.
Then after sleeping you can click the option that pops to throw it bag in your bag.

And you can sleep on the floor without a sleeping bag if you click that 'sleep on the ground' button. Not sure if there is a debuff, but I think i didn't heal as much nor be as rested when sleeping without a sleeping bag.

Ah! Thank you. I Had my sleeping back in my pants funnily enough and it did not give me the 'deploy' promt. Moving it to my backpack solved it. Many thanks.
