Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

GTA Best To Worst
What are your favourite GTA's worst to best?
I've only played GTA IV and SA and I find it hard to compare, I honestly find them equal. I just bought GTA III and VC and am going through the series in order starting from 3. My friend was meant to give me $50 so I could get GTA V but he dogged me.

my list (best to worst)

1) Vice City - great '80s atmosphere, characters, music, etc.
2) III - feels dark and serious, but in a fun way
3) IV (PS3) - interesting story and characters, cool city, though i prefer the older games' style
4) San Andreas - ugly visuals, lame gameplay, and "gangstas" are pathetic
5) V (PS3) - more interesting missions than SA, but overall i kinda dislike it more (not 100% sure)

(never got too far in GTA 2 and only tested the first game once)

Not a lot of love for V. Wonder why, besides the online.

Idk man, I don't think they'll ever "hesitate to put a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on his back", so I wouldn't be talking ♥♥♥♥.

1. San Andreas- Favorite map and story progression, quirky characters, very fun gamplay with tons of side activities, not as good a soundtrack as VC but still pretty darn good. Tons of memories of this on the PS2
2. TBoGT- Adds several features, vehicles and weapons that should have been in base IV, and provides an atmospheric contrast to IV like VC with GTA III
3. V- I love the modding on PC, but I have been permanently killed from Online. I do like the story, even if it's not as well written as IV, and I also like the 3 player mechanic.
4. IV- Best story in the franchise IMO, 2nd best soundtrack behind Vice City, but doesn't feel complete without TBoGT, and Niko Bellic is my favorite protagonist. Also the multiplayer GTA Online should have followed
5. Vice City- Best soundtrack in the series, nice contrast in terms of atmosphere to III
6. TLaD
7. III
8. LCS
9. GTA

#1 Vice City (Played most hours on VC Stories PSP. But Original has better story)
#2 GTA 3
#3 GTA V (Wow)
#4 GTA San Andreas (PLayed only a few hours. The whole 'Hood' vibe always annoys me. but really cool game.)
#5 GTA 1
China Town and Vice City Stories are both pretty solid handheld games.
Everything else I have never played and or don't care about.
1) Vice city. Absolutely the best. Decades will pass, but I'll be returning back there again and again.
2) GTA V - it is increadibly beautiful.
3) San Andreas
4) Others...

1. San Andreas.
2. V
3. Vice City
4. TBoGT
5. IV
6. III
7. TLaD
8. II
Never played I or the non-home console games like Chinatown Wars and the "Stories" games.

Coincidentally, this is also roughly the order of my most played hours in. Still got a San Andreas PS2 save from 2006. Thousands of hours on that save. My GTA IV disc broke for 360, so I haven't played it since 2011, meanwhile I've put on tons of hours on my EFLC disc.

GTA V looks amazing. Been wanting it since release pretty badly. Now I get the chance and my stupid card doesn't work.

I like GTA V because it allows me to roleplay a hell of a lot better than San Andreas or Vice City did. The mods are nice, too. Graphics look great and the game runs great.

I imagine it letting you go to first-person would help with that. That's actually a big reason I want it too.

First person not so much. It's the vehicles, the map layout, physics(in certain cases), and mods that keep the world the same everytime the game is started.
