Are there no "Shop Upgrades"?
The button next to settings pulls up a window that lists your various alchemical tools, and they're worded in a way that implies you get better ones of higher grade material:

-Granite Mortar and Pestle
-Copper Cauldron
-Wooden Spoon
-Copper Ladle
-Leather Bellows

And underneath is the advanced alchemy machine, which is the only thing I found "upgrades" for, to make the various philosopher's stone components and salts. But I've never seen any sort of upgrades for the above,

Those things don't exist no, just the alchemy machine. I do wonder what sort of upgrades such items you listed could give. I'd be interested in a spoon that makes you travel a path faster or bellows that speeds up whirlpools faster. Maybe something in the future? It's just fun to speculate atm c:

I know it's hard to believe, considering a lot of people didn't think we'd ever get the Garden update, but they do plan on adding more content. There is an infographic on the game's Store page that shows planned future content, and it was added AFTER the Garden update infographic, so it looks like they do plan on adding things. Who knows when that will be since we JUST got the Garden update, so we'll have to just wait and see. Hopefully this time they are better about communicating about what's up. For now, just enjoy that we finally have the garden to play with!

just heat up the cauldron and your stirring goes like 3 times faster

I'd love for a better mortar and pestle, ideally one that lets me shove multiple ingredients in so I don't have to mash one by one.

Yeah I did take a look at that just now. I guess it makes sense for them to do this in batches. Looks like things we'll have coming up that actually matter are:

-Upgrading your alchemy equipment
-Other things to make with the alchemy machine besides the Magnum Opus, including more salts
-Monster part ingredients

I think notGeralt talks about how he's going to sell monster parts and realized it never actually came up again lmao. I'm curious how they could make monster parts interesting from Plants/Mushrooms (Normal paths) and Crystals (teleporting paths) beyond just having differently shaped paths.

good call I was thinking about how upgrades could increase QOL.

I realized a 'basic' upgrade in terms of making things faster is not actually ideal because precision is often more important, so something like upgrading the cauldron to move you faster on the map would actually be bad when you're trying to line up for tier 3 effects

though I guess some things I can think of:
-(Cauldron) Making your hitbox smaller in order to squeeze past bones more easily, or give you more leeway in lining up for Tier 3 effects, or just give you more potion health
-(Mortar and Pestle) Letting you grind materials even finer, translated as the possible paths on materials being longer?
-(Bellows) Stays headed for longer, so you can stir faster for a longer period
-(Ladle): Let me see the freaking lines leading back to the center more clearly please

Faster would be nice for me, maybe 3 tiers of stirring spoons or something, if you want to be precise you can just hang up your fancy upgraded one and swap back to wooden?

Was wondering the same long ago.

My bet for the monster part ingredients would be that they are a way to add totally new effects. Like, they already have three bases with respective maps. Instead of having to redraw those maps to add new possible effects that don't yet exist in the game, or having to create totally new bases/maps to add them to the game, you just pop a harpy wing in your brew and bam, now it's a potion of Silence or something. They would be extremely rare and expensive, obviously, and you wouldn't be able to farm your own.

It'll be interesting to see what they actually do!

notGeralt

I love this. lol Yeah, it's still in the game where he talks about selling monster parts, just like how upgrading the alchemy equipment tab is still there, too. That, to me, means they intend on adding these things. Personally, I don't expect anything new for another two years. I don't mean that to be negative; I truly hope we'll see it sooner. Just that because this update took two years, if the next one comes sooner I'll be pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed.
