does there exist any "good" people who ask for necromancy?
i havent seen a single person show up who needs a necromancy potion when i have +100 reputation so i was wondering if i just got unlucky

Nope. you can sell it to merchants though. it's not entirely clear to me if necromancy is actually better exp than its coin value would suggest, but if it is, then bulk brewing it and selling to merchants is pretty good exp.
there are legitimate uses for various damage types, poisons and battle potions. there isn't really a legitimate use of raising corpses in polite society

Cheap farming labor. Look if you can get your undead minions to fertilize and harvest my garden for me...
+100 reputation and -100 reputation have a few potions that will never get sold just because of the types of clientele. For instance, you'll also never find a single person at -100 reputation who wants a potion of fragrance because a whole bunch of thieves, assassins, and other morally dubious characters don't need to or care about smelling pretty.

This depends entirely upon the society. There are potentially societies or cultures that view the soul or spirit as indendent of the body/vessel, and using a dead person's body after they have passed on is perfectly acceptable as they are no longer using it themselves.

Ok, such cultures might only exist in fantasy, but hey, so does this game!
yeah, curse and fear also are not used if you are positive reputation

huh odd, i totally thought that fear would have had a use like "i need to scare off some bandits" or something

Solving crimes. Labour, as fractalgem suggested. Asking great-great-grandma for her cookie recipe. Adventuring. If controlled well, undead would be fantastic rescue workers, since they don't need to breathe and don't suffer overmuch from extreme temperatures. Honestly, I'd argue that it's easier to justify than some potions that are sold at high rep. Looking at you, charm potion.

Oh I practically NEVER sell this one. Most of the requests for charm potion sound like roof-ies request. Though I will accomodate the Skymir guy who kicked a chicken and wants people to forgive him xD.

Solving crimes, receiving any useful info: assumes the immortal soul is actually coherent, which in most necromancy in fantasy it tends to not be.
Labour: not necessary to use corpses in a world where golem magic also appears to exist. Mostly cultural/spiritual objections (unknown but may be objective reality that the souls suffer from this or something). that applies to all further extensions of tasks.

Where's my golem for gardening work? How expensive are they? A necromancer expects to raise an army (even if it's a "small" one) with the help of just ONE of my potions.

well in fantasy, I believe a small army can be below 10 individuals. it also might be the case that the potion offers a type of structure to the spell, that's going to work as long as sufficient amounts of mana/corpses/time are provided.

Aaaand guess what else I can brew? Mana potions. Staggeringly effective mana potions that can meaningfully help restore an entire enchanted tree.

yeahh.

It DOES depend a little bit on the type of necromancy, sure. Warhammer fantasy necromancy is baaad juju for instance, even if you're trying to use it for farm labor those undead will mess up the soil something fierce with their presence, but other types of undead are more like a cheap golem in and of themselves. Even plague stibnite is...apparently safe enough to handle if you have an unlimited supply of protection from poison potions, and that's one of the two most concerning ingredients we can work with.

it may be that "doing magic" is a somewhat rare learned skill that our character doesn't have, we might need help of a conjurer to actually perform complex spells.

Also I 100% agree that we should be able to get a garden assistant/automation in the game.

There could also be a Mage who wants to create a protection spell against necromancy or a spell to put the undead to rest and needs to study that magic. We already have similar requests. Same logic could apply to the fear potion in addition to the already mentioned "I want to scare some bandits away".

On the negative reputation side there are already ruthless rich people who want to charm someone or blow up someones mansion. They surely attend a gala every now and than and need to smell good for the occasion.

it may just feel weird or not come up in your mind that the glass weapons dealer who nowadays mainly supplies the local crime bosses with acid bombs and torture dips is the right person to go to for something to spray on yourself willingly. XD
