I managed to make a few potions this way already, but this one recipe required me to use earth pyrite, life crystal and life leaf twice, out of 33 types of ingredients I threw in it. I also used 130 grains of sun salt. I'll try to redo this potion again later, I'll make the objective of using no more than one piece of each ingredient MY Magnum Opus.
How do you get necromancy without any gems?
Brute Force. In the small area where Necromancy is, there's a very thin barrier of death zone. It's facing towards the middle of the Water map. If you can use an ingredient that goes straight through or at the very least has a small path, you can get break through into that little gap.
Alternatively, stash some coin, wait for the miner to come with some gems - preferably anything between Fire and Earth - then use that to warp in safely until you get the crystal seeds to reliably enter that little space.
Huh, that first method can be done without life salt???
Of course!
To do this, you need any ingredient that will pass this partition at a right angle.
