New Philosopher's Stone [SPOILERS?]
Is something else. I am currently trying to come up with a recipe for last two potions: [grow, glue, anti-magic, lube, shrink] and [invis, flight, terror, necro, rejuv]. The first one seemingly requires a round trip around an oil map, that's almost reasonable, considering the recipe for red salts requires to do the same, but with protection effects.

The second one, however... Do I REALLY need to traverse a WATER map top-left to bottom-left to bottom-right? There's no flight, terror and necro on oil map, and there's no invis and rejuv on alcohol map. Am I missing something?

You are trying to create the epitome of alchemy, if it was easy everyone could do it.

Yes. I started with the top left, used the pit to hop the fence, shimmyed back and forth to allow the water to pull me home, then went for the apple and finished with the skull. It's even possible to do without magic rocks.

Yeah, I did not expect it to be a walk in the park. Challenge is always welcome, and with these potions, I decided to make them a bit more "optimal", taking my garden into account. If I used an ingredient, I tried to only use it once, and I tried to use only these that I can grow (I still don't have some herbs, shrooms and two stones seeds, despite starting on day 50 from my last save, and currently being on chapter x, day 100).

I managed to make a few potions this way already, but this one recipe required me to use earth pyrite, life crystal and life leaf twice, out of 33 types of ingredients I threw in it. I also used 130 grains of sun salt. I'll try to redo this potion again later, I'll make the objective of using no more than one piece of each ingredient MY Magnum Opus.

How do you get necromancy without any gems?

Brute Force. In the small area where Necromancy is, there's a very thin barrier of death zone. It's facing towards the middle of the Water map. If you can use an ingredient that goes straight through or at the very least has a small path, you can get break through into that little gap.

Alternatively, stash some coin, wait for the miner to come with some gems - preferably anything between Fire and Earth - then use that to warp in safely until you get the crystal seeds to reliably enter that little space.

Huh, that first method can be done without life salt???

Of course!
To do this, you need any ingredient that will pass this partition at a right angle.

Stink Mushroom works fine (as do many others, it's pretty forgiving). You just need to line it up.

Very carefully.
