How do you fix the Alchemy Machine?

I've been hanging out for several days at this point, waiting for the wizard to sell me Alchemy Repair stuff. I've seen him twice, and both times he only had pages. I've been selling potions, upgrading merchants, and generally doing everything the game asks me to do. My Chapters 1 and 2 are complete. My Chapter 3 only needs the Alchemy Machine repairs to finish. I'm mostly done Chapter 4 already.

Is there a trick to getting the wizard to show up/carry the repair supplies? I'm basically just grinding until I get that part, and I'd really like to be able to progress.

It seemed fairly random to me. The upgrades are expensive though, so idk if your funds affect the spawn rate either, as in he's more likely to show up with the recipe if you actually have the gold to buy it

For me it was watch-and-wait. Not sure if you need to buy or do anything first (IIRC I got the repair and my first extra pages at the same time), but he offered it on day 13.

Same deal with the first upgrade, though that may have been gated behind a couple machine recipes. Showed up at like day 30, but whoof that one's pricey even on classic x_x' So I'm not how much funds matter either, I had like 1/3 of the gold I needed.

Ah, I was starting to wonder myself. I've done all but repair the machine for 3, most of 4 and 5 done and already up to like, reputation level 7 at the end of day 11.
Seemed like it should be along any day now, so possibly day 13.

Well, now starting day 17, 12.5k gold, popularity level 9, maxed reputation, still no alchemy machine...

Got it day 18, hurray!
