The rest is optional if you want continue
Technically speaking, the questbook in the current version of the game, has 10 chapters, in last chap, the "hardest" the missions are:
Create Philosopher Salt
Reach popularity level 15
So I would consider them the ending of the game. Also achieved by less than 2% of player.
This game don't have a real storyline, there are some recurrent characters, like the hunter, fisherman and the witch, who have some kinda of story, but they stop show up to me (i'm in chap 10) long time ago, and if you ask me if story ended or now, I have no idea.
So basically the game is complete once you complete all 10 chaps in alchemist path, I think.
In my very personal opinion, I consider a game finished when I achieve 100% achievements, for example.
Once you completed the hardest task it is real end.
Example complete hardest difficulty of monster train doesn't end the game. But it is indeed the last final challenge
Are the achievements hard to get in this game ?
I wouldn't say hard, they just require hard working actually. Mostly selling a ton of potions!
for me brew all potions for the last salt was very very funny, achieve popularity level 15 is a bit more repetitive
Anyway everything is very enjoyable I think
Not hard but very, very time consuming. You can do things to speed up gaining reputation but it took me over 8 hours to get from level 12 to 14 and I pretty much just gave people potions from my saved recipes and hit next day. I would say wait for the garden 2.0 update that SHOULD come out this winter (no guarantee on that, though). Hopefully it will add enough content to make the endgame grind more fun and less "click for the sake of getting the achievement".
