a) The crystal ingredients sold by the dwarf have a dotted line for their movement. When you use these ingredients, you teleport to the end of their line without passing through the intervening space.
b) Sometimes a whirlpool sends you into an enclosed area
c) Sometimes you can pass through a bone wall with regular movement, if it's thin enough and you go straight enough that you're not touching it for too much distance
d) There are giant XP books that you can get without going through bone walls at all if you explore far enough out
2) Whirlpools are activated by the bellows (the same tool you use to add potion effects to your potion). If you pump the bellows just a little bit, you can use the spinning for some free movement. If you keep pumping until you get sucked into the middle of the whirlpool, you teleport somewhere nearby (which will be marked on the map once you've done it once).
3) Not sure what you're referring to here
