Can't understand map symbols

Sometimes I forget which map symbols means what effects, is there a way to get a reminder or do I just need an encyclopedic memory of what every symbol means?

short term workaround would be to use the wiki just looking at the list of effects, without looking up the individual entry and the their position to avoid spoiling yourself.

it has all the effects for a certain base listed with symbols corresponding to them.

most of them should be pretty obvious though.

Most symbols are pretty obvious but there's a few that are a bit esoteric

It helps if you save a recipe of each effect that way you can just open up your recipe book and it has written out what the effect is!

I originally thought there would be an encyclopedia of all the potions and ingredients (or like a book that unlocks info on these things as you unlock them). Hopefully in the future something like this is implemented.

i feel the same... looking at the map.. while most are obvious (specially if you have been playing a while) i had to keep looking it up for a while - would be nice to have a quick window pop up with a discription, tabbing in and out to wiki is annoying to me, ij ust wanna dive into a game

It's annoying. I also can't figure out exactly what oil / other map is good for besides exp.

You need to fully explore the Oil Map because it has MANY potions that are on the Water Map but you are unable to make them tier 3 on the water map without using certain salts. While on the Oil Map you are able to reach tier 3 without salt.

plus, those potions are shorter distance away from the source compared to the water map, so theyre easier to reach if youre good at navigating through the map.
