Don't get the void salt instructions
Hi alchemists,
I struggle to understand what potions are needed to fill the machine. I see 3 heart signs but it only allows me to add one single healing potion. Same with other slots - say, 2 thunderbolts + 3 mana - could you please clarify for a stupid me what I actually should add? I tried to add what it allows (using duo and triple effected ones as well) but only got the poo...

So, only one potion goes in each slot in the machine (as you have already figured out). Each potion needs to have all of the effects listed on the instructions. The 3 hearts means "3rd level healing potion". "2 thunderbolts + 3 mana" means a single potion with level 2 thunder/lightning effect and level 3 mana effect.

There can be up to 5 total levels worth of effects on a single potion. So you could have a potion that has 5 level 1 effects in it.

You can only add a given effect to a potion once. This means that if you make a 1 level healing + 1 level mana potion, you cannot later add more levels of healing or mana to that particular potion.

To make a potion have a "Level 3 effect", you have to get your potion icon as close to being inside an effects outline as possible. I usually throw in an extra ingrediant in order to have my dotted lines go past an effect outline and pour my water VERY GENTLY in the cauldron to pull the icon back slowly into the outline, and ~POOF~ A level 3 potion effect.

Thank you so much! Never realised proximity matters - I’ve made hundreds of potions but never got at least a double!
Another one is, is it fine if the effect exceeds? Say, I need 2lvl but made 3rd - will it still qualify?

You need the exact potion.

there is a line from potion you are making to the middle of the map. there is also a line from the potion effects on the map to the middle, though limited in size. Just get it behind and line up both lines and use your water/oil/etc to move it to the effect
