No kidding, order yourself a footmouse. My Uncle did the same thing, he is a gamer, even when he lost his right arm he persisted in this hobby.
Mad respect to him for taking that initiative
or some option to fully grind/mix to the end (Of course it has to be optional, for when your doing that finagling finesse, but for the builk of "I just want to move left 6 times in a row." or something.
The game isn't timed and is very slow paced it shouldn't be that exhaustive to click Im leaning towards your mouse isn't suitable for your health condition.
They make gaming mice that are far easier to click.
Most disabled people who are disabled to the point that they cant even click a mouse dont play pc games that is why most games do not accommodate on that level. I dont think they have forgotten the disabled. I think that the game is in early access development and the main thing is getting a game to work before adding other things to accommodate everyone that can interfere and cause their own game issues.
Green Hell was early access and people had dizziness and motion sickness issues but they couldn't concern themselves with all that till they got the game actually on a level of working for people before trying to implement methods of playing which may affect the game and how it plays.
Its unfair to the devs to act as if they specifically left out the disabled people on purpose. Most people are not aware of anyone with that level of disability playing PC games and usually the ones who are accommodate themselves with special equipment installed by others for that purpose. 3rd party programs to sense other areas moving to click a mouse.
That is yet another reason why many game developers do not add accessibility options.
I have played lots of games and I don't know of any game that has reasonable accommodation to suit every person with every disability much less options at all.
I know The Long Dark does have accessibility options to help with not having to hold the W key to walk but that is one of the only games I know of that has accessibility options.
My suggestions to you are
A.) Be patient and let them devs get the game to level acceptable of completion before they try to add accessibility and not think they forgot the disabled but simply give them a chance to reach that level of complete so they can start to accommodate that issue.
B.) in the meantime look into some gaming mice with super easy click buttons.
C.) Look into 3rd party software to help with your mouse clicking and typing issues that will reasonably accomodate this issue accross several programs on your pc.
first off yes i do use text to speech
repeative clicks of the same kind on the same finger can cause issues for people with problems using their hands. you making assumptions that are far from corrrect.
a large amount of gamers are disabled people, because they cant do much or are bed ridden, they use games to make friends and try to distract themselves, and games giving features for these people is important.
stop white knighting a problem that exists in the game. i have a gaming mouse with easy to click buttons.
its that using my hands in anyway with repetitive actions causes pain, spasms, or worse.
some disabled people can function for an hour or so playing games okay and then their health acts up and they are floored for days to weeks.
you are coming off as anti disabled.
disabled people KNOW to look for mice that help, that there is 3rd party software, and you assuming i dont, kinda shows your views. your not sharing it to try and help, your doing it to try to cover up a problem.
these devs are making this game very difficult to play for some people with dissabilities.
you were condescending and straight up insulting, not only that you made assumptions about my health, and dictated it to me as if im the problem.
and you trying to say "no game adds features for every disability" more and more games are as they become more helpful and accepting of their players, many of which are disabled. be it sounds in text on screens or talking menus for people who are deaf or blind, auto aim features for people who have physical issues that effect it.
you have dismissed peoples needs, and are defending them.
i just requested for them to add a toggle or a feature to help i didnt attack them or denounce them as terrible.
but you act as if i am, and its downright now okay. check your privilege.
i have multiple severe health issues, and sometimes i can game all the wile it being a severe struggle, other times i have so many seizures in a day i cant move or take care of myself because my muscles tore themselves while i had seizures. my fingers are difficult to move and clicking takes a while and using just 1 finger for 1 action only is the problem.
even if i rebind click to 1 button/key, its still 1 finger over and over. there needs to be more options for controls. because as it is. when i am able to play, its painful.
i asked for features because i enjoy the game.i am asking for simple control options.
and you first off attack me asking if i use voice to speech programs as if since i can type there is no problem?
your post is pretty clear in your view of the plight of disabled people. when i asked for something simple, you attacked me for it.
Please remove it as a requirement, at least...
what on earth is wrong with you, you are being Ableist
Ableism is the discrimination of and social prejudice against people with disabilities based on the belief that typical abilities are superior.
you are downright attacking people for wanting help for physical problems that usually are of no fault of those who suffer from them.
It seems like some people are responding to this request as if it's an attack on the devs or a wildly unreasonable request, and it's neither. It's entirely reasonable to ask for something that many games have (alternative or modifiable controls), especially during early access, when devs are actively looking for feedback just like this. If they implement more inclusive options for controlling the tools, it will be a better game that more people can play and enjoy for longer.
Shiori Im sorry I really did not mean it like you took it at all. I am actually disabled myself with multiple issues just as you.
I asked if you were using text to speech because of the issue you had.
I wasnt insinuating that if you could type you were not disabled.
Basically I just asked that to get a gauge on what it was you did to ease movement issues and have an idea of just how severe your disability was for you.
I didnt mean it the way you took it. Im sorry.
I was simply saying that it sounded like it was your mouse as it did to others who replied.
I was not saying for sure it was. Being disabled I didnt know how often you played games and was trying to give my perspective based on my own experience with games not being very accomodating to issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome ect.
I was just trying to explain to you basically that because its early on those things may not be able to be added yet.
Lastly I was just giving you some advice about what you to do.
You made it sound as if they were doing it on purpose or just didnt care and I was simply trying to tell you that they do care its just too early to see adjustments made in many cases of game development. They want to get the game itself at a level at which appeals to the most audience first to maximize the returns for the time and money spent then in release fine tune it and add accommodations if any.
I wasnt trying to be rude. Forgive me.
