GTA 3 Xbox controller

Hi, dose anyone on here use the xbox 360 controller to play their games. The reason i ask is when trying to set up the controls it dosnt allow me to allocate the L+R triggers.

Ummm whats Ginput? im new to the pc gaming , most iv done is football manager which dosnt need a ontroller , so i may be a bit slow picking things up lol

The mod he mentioned is by steam user silent and can be found here: Achieving full XBOX 360 Controller support in GTA III. It also includes files for supporting PS3 controllers, which is nifty.

It not only adds full controller support, it also can bind the start button to pausing and unpausing, something you can't even achieve with regular non Xinput controller configurations (X-input is something involved with Xbox and PS3 controllers that I don't really understand either, but it's something Rockstar forgot to account for when porting the game and have slacked off in patching it in) In addition, it adds proper button prompts to whatever control method you're using, as well as being able to switch between them if it detects you using another (from controller to keyboard, you could switch back and foth if you really wanted with this mod).

It requires a small installation of a few files, following the readme's instructions should give you no issues. It's virus-free, thank goodness, and the files are anything but cumbersome. I don't use a lot of mods because I prefer the vanilla game-- but this mod is a MUST.

Unfortunately, it seems that the only available link is a dead one at this point. There's a working link in the comments section for a version of Ginput for Vice City, but it doesn't seem he's updated the one for 3, sadly. If you have a Google+ account, I can probably share the very same file with you on drive.google.com since I've backed it up for myself for just such occasions.
