Controls completely overriden ?

Update is a blast, but sometimes, it seems clicking on the events in the upper corner, my controls are doing whack, and I can't figure out ANYTHING to get them back to normal ?

Like, I can't hit escape anymore (Have to close the game with the game's window otherwise I can't since escape doesn't bring up the menu...)
WASD just cycles through powers, and middle mouse cycles through speed ?

This seems to be a feature, not a bug, but this is litterally making the game unplayable ?Everytime it happens, I have to reload a save to get rid of it, because I can't zoom or do anything anymore.

I've noticed it *may* not be related to clicking on events in the upper left corner, but it seems to now happen (Since the update) everytime I try to bring up either Steam Overlay or Xbox's overlay.

(Though there is still something annoying with the clickable events, it will sometimes lock onto them, and when you try to move, if you haven't deselected your mouse, will move to the next event in line, Why ? I could click it with my mouse twice as fast while wanting to do it..?)

It seems to be related with Xbox's overlay. Try pressing ctrl+esc and see if that helps

Ah yes, Ctrl+esc does seem to work, thank you for this.
