Good Point.
Honestly, I gotta agree with you there. I can see why people are getting quite annoyed with it, as it is quite frustrating and an absolute pain trying to get back all the traits. If the mechanic is going to remain in the game, it should at least be a play style option (as in it can be turned on and off).
i would assume the reset was done to make sure people who start after the update are able to unlock everything.. like who knows if an old achivement got bugged or a trait that basically everbody has...
like imagine the 170 subspecies trait existed before, u make a new update.... literally everybody who played before has it, but its bugged now, how would you catch that bug if nobody has to unlock it anymore so it kinda makes sense
just hope we keep the unlockprogress from the beta once it goes live
