How do you properly deal with Mush Spores?

Is there any way to get rid of them without completely decimating your population or spawning in hundreds of plague doctors? I went over every pixel of the map with Divine Light and I'm still having my "infected" number go from 0 to 1 about every two minutes. I don't understand how it keeps popping back up.

they are that infectious? for me they rarely take over the world unlike zombies

Use plague Drs or cure them with the God rays

Thats the point of the mush. It can't really be stoped. My suggestion is to spawn plague Docters, Give everyone Imune. And use divine light. And also maby don't spawn the mush in the first place.

Spores are highly infectious and even worse than plague and zombies in my playthroughs, NEVER use spores

i just destroy all the building so people cant hide in them then use god rays on every thing it work mostly
